Today marks the 101st International Women’s Day!
International Women’s Day was first marked during 1911 while 1 million women and men attended rallies throughout Austria, Denmark, Germany as well as Switzerland to demand the right for women to be able to vote, hold public office, work and have equal pay.
As a sign of respect and recognition of International Womens Day; women traditionally receive flowers from brothers, husbands and fathers.
International Women’s Day is a celebration about female strength and achievement on a worldwide scale and provides a moment in time to rally for equal rights around the globe. (more…)
